Rotosound Signature strings

Over the last few months Rotosound have been working with some of their metal guitarist endorsees to develop a new range of signature strings.

Long standing endorsee, Paul Allender, lead guitarist with extreme metal band Cradle of Filth has worked with Rotosound to develop his own custom gauge strings. He wanted strings that would help him maintain that sharp air of sinister lead riffs while allowing him to produce provocative melodic statements and clever counter harmonies.

Mikey Demus of Skindred (who recently won Best Live Act at 2011′s Golden God Awards) completes our trio with his signature set. Known for his gut wrenchingly heavy guitar playing, full of raw metal power and soulful reggae, his strings are designed to work through these musical variables and survive their savage, energetic stage shows.

Michael, Paul and Mikey join an elite group of Rotosound endorsees including Billy Sheehan and Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris in having their own set of signature strings. Designed for brilliance and strength, these new bespoke strings are a must for the metal shredder and are produced in the UK using a highly secretive manufacturing process.

High Voltage and Hevy Festivals

The one good thing about going to High Voltage is that you feel young !!  It’s an odd festival alround as there’s no camping and there’s a noise limit!!  but having said that it’s great fun.  The Artist area is extremely quiet but that made a nice change.  Good meeting up with the Lizzy guys.  Truly mind blowing sets from Amplifier, Black Spiders, Rival Sons and Graveyard and I had a great trip down memory lane watching Barclay James Harvest and Jethro Tull.   Horlicks and bed by midnight…  a refreshing change.

Hevy Festival this weekend.  Make sure you check out Never Means Maybe on the Redbull Stage tonight and the mighty Funeral For A Friend.

Download, Sonisphere and Lubstock

Fairbanks Endorsements were again at the major festivals recently with our artists.  We had a rainy time at Download but we had a good weekend talking to some extremely good new artists.  Sonisphere was spectacular with great performances from Metallica, Biffy and Slipknot.  We tapped up the Redbull and Jagermeister stages and in particular and will be announcing some new signings shortly.  Good to meet so many like minded bands and brands at Sonisphere. Always good to meet up with the Gibson boys and take advantage of their hospitality!!. This weekend was a completely differently ball game with the emerging artists at Lubstock. Reminded me of the early days of Standon Calling.  good times.  High Voltage this weekend, so very glad to be meeting up with the Thin Lizzy boys and seeing our mate Richie Faulker with Judas Priest.
